How are boarding rates calculated?
The day of check-in is billed as a full day of boarding, regardless of arrival time. The day of check-out is free until check-out time at 12 noon. After noon, the day will be billed as a full day of boarding.
What is included in traditional boarding?
Traditional boarding includes an indoor, temperature-controlled run, with a shaded outdoor patio. Every dog receives bedding, clean water, and our signature diet.
How many dogs can stay in the same run?
Only dogs from the same family (and who get along well) may stay together. Depending on the size of the dogs, up to 3 medium-sized dogs or 4 small or toy breeds may stay comfortably in a traditional run. Giant runs are perfect for families with multiple dogs or giant breeds.
Where will my elderly pet stay?
Dogs over the age of ten or who need extra care due to medical conditions should stay in the geriatric area. The boarding rate includes an orthopedic bed and the comfort of soft music. Barking is natural and expected, but dogs who bark constantly will not be permitted in the geriatric area.
What are Luxury Suites?
These private rooms are the next best thing to home! With an oversized bed, cable television, satellite radio, and ambient lighting, your dog won’t mind going on vacation. Best of all, with virtual soundproofing, plus the entertainment provided by Animal Planet, he won’t be bothered by outside noises like thunder, fireworks, or barking. Look for discounted rates on our Suites during our off season!
What kind of food does Calypso provide?
Our Signature Diet is a maintenance kibble, mixed with a small amount of chopped chicken and warm water. Even the pickiest eaters can’t resist the smell of a hot bowl of food! Nutrition information is available upon request.
May I bring my dog’s food from home?
If your dog is on a special diet, we’ll serve food from home for no extra charge. Just make sure the food is prepackaged in zip lock baggies—one for every meal. It may seem tedious, but it helps us maintain a clean and healthy environment, which is definitely worth the trouble. If your food comes in bulk and we package it for you, we’ll charge a convenience fee of $.50 per feeding.
Do I have to pay extra for medication administration?
Your pet’s health is our first priority. We never charge for administering medications, and someone is always available to administer insulin injections. Just bring us your pet’s medications in their original packaging, and clear instructions from your vet. Don’t forget; make sure your pet’s first and last name are on all of his belongings!
May I bring my dog’s toys from home?
If your dog is particularly attached to a toy, bring it in. Make sure to clearly label all belongings with your name in permanent marker. If you forget to bring a toy, we have plenty of toys in our retail area. Your dog can pick one when he comes in, or select our “room service” option and we’ll let him pick new toys throughout his stay. Dogs are always happier when they have something to do, so we encourage you to bring natural bones and chews for your pet. Unfortunately, we cannot accept raw bones or rawhide for the safety of our guests.
What activities can my dog participate in?
A full list of our activities and amenities is available in our resources section. We always recommend a combination of physical activities and special treats. Our boarding packages are pre-grouped services that will keep your pet comforted and entertained during his stay with us.
Why should my dog have playtime?
Physical activity not only prevents boredom, but also helps keep your pet from getting stiff and sore, or engaging in self-destructive behavior like licking or chewing his feet. Think about your own vacations; anyone would go a little crazy sitting in a hotel room for a few days!
What vaccinations do you require?
We require that all pets are vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella. You can bring the records when you check in, or fax them to us at (540) 657-6240.
Most importantly, will my pet be safe and happy while he’s boarding?
Come in for a tour and to meet our staff. We’re confident that once you meet us, you’ll feel much more relaxed about your pet’s vacation with us.
